If it's just a few shingles, and the estimate is less than your deductible amount, you are wiser to not file a claim, as you'd end up paying for it anyway, and you will spare yourself the chance of an increased premium as a result of the filed claim.

Second time hurricane and they finally wrote check and I had shingles that blew off replaced. Now another storm and leak came thru. I had a temp repair done til insurance could come.
